We have a network of 7 websites relating to motoring experience days: supercar driving days, karting, quad-biking, rallying, off-roading, monster trucks & motor racing to be specific.
URLs are:
http://www.supercardrivingdays.com
http://www.quadbikingdays.com
http://www.kartingdays.com
http://www.offroadingdays.com
http://www.rallyingdays.com
http://www.monstertruckdrivingdays.com
http://www.motorracingdays.com
The sites offer a variety of motoring related experience days tailored to each specific category.
The recipients of our driving experience gifts purchased online will be typically male in the 20-40 age range although the website users will be a mixture of men and women. Many people will be purchasing these experiences as gifts for others rather than for themselves.
We are looking for a header image to replace the current placeholder images across the network of sites. Only one logo is required, but it will be used several times with the differentiator being the logo text (the URL) which must be clear, easy to read and easily editable as text in Photoshop. It should be clean and contemporary but not likely to date quickly. It should be colourful and attractive but complement the colour scheme in use on the sites.
We are looking for something that spans the width of the page replacing the current temporary images, with the site-specific text either underneath a wide logo or to the right hand side of something narrower. Having the text underneath may also work as the length of the URLs varies considerably as you can see above.
The image needs to suggest fun and be linked to motoring in some generic way and a good fit for these sites which are otherwise finished.
A layered PSD file should be fine in terms of us being able to edit the text to suit.
The current images are 960px x 100px. We can make the header slightly taller to accomodate an image of slightly different proportions if need be, but it will be important to bear this in mind as a general guideline.
We will provide regular, clear, constructive feeback on anything submitted.
"*update*" designs submitted so far all seem to incorporate some form of car outline - they may be a little too specific - something incorporating a wheel or a gear/cog might be easier for us to reuse across the sites unless a slightly more vague car graphic can be incorporated. Thanks.
