How JJensenH started their logo design journey
Who are you known as?
I don't necessarily want a name in my logo. I would like a symbol and if the name makes since sure put in Akhetian.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Akhetian is a company made up of two divisions. One division is an engineering consulting and development company that designs products and markets them to manufactures. The other division does high end home design. Both divisions approach different problems using the same techniques.
The word Akhetian is rooted in the egyptian word Akhet. This was the first written word to describe the future or tomorrow. It was represented by the hieroglyph of a sun setting or rising in the mountains. Now pairing that with the suffix "ian", meaning belonging to, you have word loosely meaning belonging to the future or the citizens of tomorrow. We choose Egyptian as the root for our name because it was the civilization that represented the genesis of modern thinking. It was at the forefront of its time and is still timeless.
Akhetian's goal is that all of our work should help build a foundation for greater things in the future while remaining timeless and functional. Because the brand image has to fit two companies in separate industries the image needs to be something that is easily associable with a division that works very much in 21 st century research and another division that works in making modern homes. I would like to see a symbol that remains rooted in the Akhet hieroglyph yet also brings something more modern and possibly abstract. If that could incorporate a feel of a home and machinery that would be the perfect logo.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
What colors do you want to see in your design?
Other color requirements
I'd like to explore the following colors:
Aquas: Empathy, compassion, clarity and precision.
Greens: Growth, harmony and success.
Light neutrals: Purity, balance and sophistication.

Please read the company description above and lookup the Akhet hieroglyph online. Apple, Audi or even VW could be a good start.
