Gourmet Prep Meals
Gourmet Prep is a social venture that sells and delivers fresh ready-to-cook recipe kits to busy families that want to prepare quick, healthy meals at home. At its heart is a program in entrepreneurship that employs, trains and nurtures aging-out foster youth so that they can become financially independent.
Gourmet Prep has two distinctly equal parts, a commercial side (Gourmet Prep Meals) and a social side (Gourmet Prep), neither of which can exist in our model without the other. Without the social purpose, Gourmet Prep is just another product offering in the burgeoning prepared foods scene. And without the product, we are just another youth training program disconnected from the very real demands of the job marketplace.
The logo design should cross-appeal to a few, distinct target audiences...
1) Foster youth - aging and recently aged-out - 16-24
(please note: our underlying philosophy is the majority of these youth are strong, independent survivors that have what it takes to become successful entrepreneurs).
2) Consumers who will be purchasing and using our recipe kits to make dinners for themselves and their families at home.
We do not currently have a logo, brand or website, so we’re very open to creativity.

The logo design should connote:
- the quality and freshness of our recipe kits
- the entrepreneurial strength and spirit of our youth
An idea we had is to somehow portray the youth as the roots of a blossoming tree (or vegetable garden). The broad message we're trying to impart is that these foster youth are integral to society-at-large, and that their contributions can be far greater than what they are today. (Please note: this is just an idea we had, so please don't feel constrained to use this in your design).
The total design should include the brand name “Gourmet Prep Meals” and the tagline "all the ingredients. ready-to-cook." along with some type of image. We would also like to be able to easily separate all text (brand name and tagline) from the image.
Colors: We haven’t selected colors, although the palette should be fresh and clean (since we're dealing with food).
Versions with a White Background, Transparent Background and Inverted Colors:
- Small Size (e.g. 50 pixels high) PNG or JPG file
- Medium Size (e.g. 100 pixels high) PNG or JPG file
- Large Size (e.g. 200-300 pixels high) PNG or JPG file
- A vector format of the file
RGB (or Hex) Values for the main colors used in the final logo.
