ReadyPrompt needed a new logo design and created a contest on 99designs.
A winner was selected from 72 designs submitted by 22 freelance designers.
StartupNextDoor
I'm an programmer and entrepreneur, and StartupNextDoor is the next project I'll be launching as a way to help others who are approaching ventures as I have, with no outside funding.
StartupNextDoor will be launching soon as a hub for bootstrap startup founders to network and get advice/answers to assist them in building their new ventures WITHOUT VC funding. Solutions like 99Designs and other such outsourcing options will be highlighted. Your winning entry will even be highlighted in a post (as well as being the site's official logo).
The site is just a placeholder at: http://startupnextdoor.com
I'll be basing the new site's design on your logo.
The most likely users will be tech-savvy programmer types who are looking to escape cubicle life and have an idea for building something great. Users will also include business types who need programmers and designers to get their products created.
I'd like to aim for a design that will be eye-catching and hip for the programmer types but not scare away the business people.
Like I mentioned above: eye-catching and hip for the programmer types but don't scare away the business people.
Looking for text plus a unique icon. If the icon and text are merged into one symbol that's acceptable (like Starbucks and Harley-Davidson) but NOT necessary. The icon will be used in key branding situations: twitter icon, favicon, etc.
The logo will be used on the site, in business cards, stickers, shirts, maybe even expo banners. A vector format that I can scale for these varied media would be excellent, or a number of layered PSDs at different sizes / DPI.
Looking for a fresh, interesting design. Not cute or cartoony. Needs to have a professional feel but also appeal to software nerds like me. That's a challenge!
Matte design please. Little or no shiny reflections, but gradients are fine.
No dollar signs and other "get-rich-quick" style items
No clip-art (especially cheesy clip-art looking stuff. You know what I mean)
No overly complex designs.
All icons must be your own creation/design - they can not be from a third party source or stock icons.
Please include in deliverable:
- fonts that are part of the design
- vector file or PSDs at different sizes and a large high DPI (300) version for large print projects.
Thanks for considering this project!
