The logo is for an online building information & help portal which assists people with the design and construction of their own house. The person / organisation who wins this competition will also be invited to design the website. Blurb from the to be front page of the website (relevant as this logo will heavily relate to the website of which is still to be designed): "Welcome to The Ultimate Building Guide (TheUBG) - we help people succeed with building projects!... This site has taken the building industry, put it into a container and shaken the #%&@ out of it until it started to make sense. What we have ended up with is a simple and logical information structure which helps people succeed with building projects, whatever they may be (new houses, renovations, kitchen remodelling, renovated bathrooms or whatever you may be considering)... Contained within these pages is almost endless and critically helpful information that will help you to manage the project, finance the project, obtain design inspiration, understand and succeed with the design and construction processes, find engage and successfully manage trades people, understand trade works and how they should be done properly and the list goes on and on... Demographic: people who are building, renovating or improving their own house. Both male and females. Ages: 30 to 60. Location: Though out Australia. Education: Varied. Target market will be interested in getting value for money from building works and ensuring that any building works are done right. This logo is for a website / organisation that provides information on designing & building houses to people who are not professionals. Notes on the design of the website (of which the logo will be a part of) - I want this site to be like a world - it will be friendly, professional, welcoming and it gains immediate trust. It is well set-out, simple to navigate and the information you seek is intuitive to find. The site will be like your professional friend - eager to help and make the business of building simple. I want people to get the following as soon as they see the logo: (This is a very important part of the brief) That it's related to houses, design and construction TheUBG is a friend in the industry. That there's information / knowledge to be provided That the site is modern, clearly set out and intuitive For people to feel comfortable and immediately trusting of the site I like the way the apple logo is simple and grey, however demands attention and respect. I am also not adverse to a splash of colour to make it more friendly. Comments on the attached images: 1. Blue folder.png - this provides a liking of mine, however is not customised for houses - could consider making the transparent pages house pages. Could also consider using multi-coloured house pages??? The attached design could be used as inspiration, however, I am looking for fresh ideas too. logo thoughts.jpg - These are just my playings with the blue folder which you could use as a starting point or disregard. The other attachments are logos which have caught my eye as to the sort of calibre of graphics I am expecting. Possible slogan: One-stop building information & help
