Arena Pwnage is a community site dedicated to teaching world of warcraft players how to get better at the competitive aspect of the game. We do this through informative videos with commentary, written guides, and the knowledge of professional players who have years of experience playing WoW arenas. For the people who play arena, whether it be in the 2v2 3v3 or 5v5 brackets the game becomes more of a sport (some call it an e-sport), than a video game. Many players want to reach the level of skill that it took many of the top players years to achieve however we help them do it in no time at all.
We target about 30% of the total world of warcraft players. WIth over 12 million subscribers that makes our user base around 300,000 people. Specifically, this group of people are those who enjoy playing the more competitive player vs player aspect of the game (also known as Arena's). It is a very competitive niche in the game and the players are always striving to achieve a higher rating. Higher ratings in an arena bracket gives players access to many high end rewards. Arena has gotten so popular that there are many tournaments that offer cash prizes for sponsored players, truly making it an e-sport.
Arena Pwnage with slogan: Learn. Dominate. Inspire.
Because arena is a very competitive e-sport we want our logo to show professionalism, sleekness, and a competitive edge. At the same time we want to incorporate some of the current design elements of World of warcraft into it as well. We do not want our logo to have the stereotypical video game cartoony feel. Think more modern.
We also want part of our logo to be able to stand alone an serve as a graphic for many other parts of our site.
The main colors we are aiming towards are white, black, gold, blue, silver.(metallic colors and themes are always good) You dont need to use all these colors but these are the main ones we are looking for.
Keep in mind that the winning designer will most likely be the one who did atleast a little background research on World of warcraft and the design elements that go into the arena aspect of the game itself. One of arenas biggest themes is its gladiator-esque feel/competition/beating opponents.
But most importantly we want it to be completely unique and outside the box. We dont want the our designers just taking the examples we gave them or copying previous designs that we may have thought had potential. The winning design will be the one that made us say "Whoa we didnt think of that", and gives our website not only a logo but an identity.
