UnWined is a new wine bar I’m starting in the middle Tennessee area. We will have a hip, trendy vibe (similar to what you might experience in NYC). We will specialize in wines but we will have a selection of fine beers and spirits as well. We will have delectable small plate food offerings and delicious desserts (everything will pair well with our wine list). This is NOT a sleepy wine bar, there will be a fun atmosphere and awesome music!
Our establishment will have a look and feel of a hip, trendy wine bar you might find in NYC. We will be known for our phenomenal service. Given that we will be located just outside of music city, music will be a large factor in creating the atmosphere.
Our target market is 35-55 year olds (primarily women).
We need a corporate logo and identity that will be used on our signage, website, business cards, and all of our paraphenalia around the bar (napkins, menus, etc.).
There will be two elements to the logo:
1. UnWined – This is the name of the wine bar and should be able to stand on its own. However, it also needs to work with the below.
2. Location – I’m hoping to open a couple of different wine bars and they will be designated by their location (e.g. UnWined on Cool Springs, UnWined at Westhaven, etc.). In addition, our website will be UnWinedontheweb.com. The logo should incorporate the location part of the name. This is subordinate to UnWined but a necessary element.
I want something that is classic yet contemporary in its design. It should appeal to both men and women and should communicate that this is a quality establishment. We will be a little on the high end but we don’t want to be stuffy or stodgy. Everyone says that they want to be approachable, so I won’t use that word but we don’t want people to be intimidated by wine, we want them to be comfortable in our place, give them an opportunity to experiment with (and hopefully develop an appreciation for) wine but there will be other offerings if that doesn’t work out. We are NOT going to be uppity about wine.
UnWined should be more about the state of mind our guests feel. By UnWined, I don’t mean relaxed to a point of sleep. This is not a dark, sleepy wine bar – there is still going to be some energy here. I’d like for there to be some element of movement in the logo.
I don’t want a cheesy corkscrew and wine glass. I’ve seen it and it looks cheap. I’m ok with a modern or artistic spin on a corkscrew but please don’t give me the stock corkscrew – it’s too obvious.
