Screen 1 Gallery
Screen 1 - Gallery
The Gallery Screen is a slideshow screen that shows pictures from my gallery at:
The pictures are shown in a random order from the galleries there. And unless the configuration is changed in Screen 2 - Preferences, then the picture is random from all Galleries.
The pictures should be cached so that the user does not have to re-download the pictures each time the random generator picks the particular picture.
The app should check daily (at a minimum) for new pictures within galleries.
The pictures should rotate on the iPad according to their orientation either:
automatically so the user rotates the pad to the see the image OR
whenever the user is in or switches from portrait to landscape and visa versa.
6 a. When the user double clicks on an image the Safari browser should open and the user presented with the particular gallery and the image activated.
6.b. When the user swipes backwards, the previous image is displayed
6 c. When the user swipes forward, the next image is displayed
6 d. After the slideshow counter expires the next image is displayed
6 e. If one finger push is active the picture is held until the user releases
To identify the Gallery and picture the RSS feed will be used.
For example here is City Gallery Feed:
The largest resolution picture should be chosen. (The RSS feed will present all versions.) The size is most likely the best method to use, but I am open to other options.)
Screen 2 - Preferences
The preferences screen will allow the user to provision the following:
Galleries - a dynamic list of Galleries is built from http://ronmccarty.smugmug.com/Art and the user is allowed to either choose All Galleries or click on a slide button between on and off to activate each individual gallery. If individual galleries are selected the the "All" button moves to the off position, and if the All button is moved to Yes, then all the individual buttons move to off. A save button will activate the changes. If the save button is hit and all buttons are on off, then the All button will be activated and saved (unless the Apple development guidelines require some other user interface notice.)
A sliding bar allows the user to define how long a slide show is between 1 and 30. Default is 5 seconds.
A Rons-Photo.com link will take the user to http://www.rons-photo.com
Look at Feel
The app should have the look and feel of http://www.Rons-Photo.com web site. The logo will be provided to the developer.
Although designed for the iPad, the app should be universal and work on the iPhone as well.
The configuration screen should not have to be used for functionality, and the way the configuration is activated should use a minimilistic approach..i.e., should be obvious but not obtrusive.
