OpenDocument Reader allows you to read your ODF (OpenDocument Format) documents wherever you are. In the bus on your way to school? No problem! With OpenDocument Reader you can read and search through your documents in a very clean and simple way. Is there just one last typo left to fix in your document? It now supports modification of documents too! Fast, simple and well integrated.
We are having huge problems keeping first-time users from uninstalling the app right away. Design (as in logo, colors, etc) might be a reason for that for sure, but the main problem is for sure UX and onboarding of new users. We are looking for proposals that focus on the latter and do not care about icon designs etc.
Target audience is mainly from Germany, Italy, France and India.
OpenDocument Reader
The app opens straight-away to a preloaded document that shows the changelog of this app. Users are required to use one of the action-bar icons to open a document from the SD-card, etc.
Do not focus on designing icons, etc. Focus on the challenge of explaining the app to the user and making sure he understands how to use it.
Now that I think about it, it is obvious that the current start screen of the app does not in any way explain the user what he has to / can do. I'm looking for suggestions more than just improving the text that is shown + show an overlay that points users to opening their own documents. Thank you!
