We are appsto.re - a short URL for iPhone applications and a hub of services for iPhone developers. We are fun, creative and effective and are looking for a design to complement that.
We're looking for a clean, esthetically pleasing and effective design that would work well with most website its embedded into. We're there to provide pure value in way of giving informative details in a pleasant way.
The design is for a widget that shows details about an iPhone app, it will be used to complement our short URLs by popping-up and displaying additional information like App name, developer, icon, screenshot/t, price, etc.
It will be used by our partners (for the purpose of this discussion that would be any website with quality content about iPhone apps).
We need a design for a Widget that will be overlaid on any web-page. This calls for an elegant and 'naturally blending' design. Opacity and round corners may work well. Experiment and be creative, maintain clarity and quality.
We expect a clean PSD file and supporting materials.
The widget will contain information about an iPhone/iPad application, and as such will be dynamic. Please design it around your favorite iPhone app but consider that we will make it dynamic so that it can showcase any iPhone/iPad app. Consider having the border point in some way to the link it is related to.
Here's the information the widget needs to contain: App name, App Icon, Developer name, partial description, A screenshot, price, a call-to-action button/link for buying/opening-itunes, a share button. try that the purest info like developer/desc/rating/etc would be a property-list which we can later modify if we find that we want to display other properties. our small logo needs to be somewhere too.
good interaction example - http://mashable.com/2010/04/12/shaz…n-tagging/
Notice how the word 'Shazam' in the 2'nd paragraph has a small smiley Icon next to it, hovering over that Icon reveals the widget.
Here's another good example of how the interaction-design would be: http://appsfire.com/
Hover over any of the iPhone app icons on the top right corner to see the widget come up.
