How Fitzychick started their other graphic design journey
Start-Up Bed & Breakfast TBA
We are starting up a small bed & breakfast inn in Seattle, WA. This neighborhood B&B will attract guests of all ages over 12, leanings, and lifestyles. It will offer comfort, quality, and a casual friendliness to visitors, who will get as much or as little assistance enjoying our city as they wish.
While the property is an older, Craftsman-style home, there will be no doilies and few precious antiques for guests to worry about breaking. Their stay is about modern conveniences and current Seattle style. Innkeepers are well traveled and relatively intelligent, normal people, yet enjoy slightly off-beat pursuits -- think Burning Man and roller derby -- not mushroom gathering or Balkan folk singing.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
B&B guests who are already at the inn who do not want the innkeeper to clean and/or enter their room. Guests will be adults of moderate to high income, hopefully with a sense of humor but not crass.
An image --with or without words-- that sends a clear but slightly fun message to innkeeper that the room is either occupied and/or not to be entered. "Do Not Disturb" is the standard concept, but we'd like something a little more interesting -- perhaps one that causes a smile. It is NOT intended to be a "please be quiet" sign. Your ideas are welcome!
The final product will be 3 inches wide and will be at least 3 inches -- but possibly 6 inches -- long. Can be any number of colors.
I will probably print the image myself, so a .pdf or .tif file is fine, as long as I can size it to ONE of these dimensions: 3"x6" ; 3" x 5" ; 3" x 4" or 3" x 3". You can pick the size. If you design it with a border, I also want a file without the border.
