We help beauty salons in India in all aspects of their business – grow their billings, get access to vendors and candidates, tap into business and beauty experts, and run their business more efficiently. We do this by bringing a bouquet of online and offline services to salons. The core offering is software to manage the salon’s business, from point-of-sale to the backend. The software is a hosted offering, currently subscribed to by 300+ salons, and we are adding rapidly to this base (however, we do need to increase usage of the software by our customers).
What's your vision?
The project is to redesign the user-interface of the software. The attached presentation has the key selling points of the software – the interface needs to align with the USP. Most of our customers’ staff has very limited exposure to technology (most do not use computers), therefore the software needs to be very easy and intuitive to use. Needless to add, the design also needs to appeal to the target audience who is in the beauty industry. The key functionality the software needs to explicitly deliver (should come through in the interface clearly) is: 1. Increase customer connect: basic CRM, such as prompting/ sending a greeting on a customer’s birthday or anniversary; recall customers based on history or treatment plans they are on; and send reminders on customer appointments, and reschedule missed appointments. 2. Help create new service-packages and promotional offers, and run a campaign (call, text message, and/or email). 3. Run daily operations such as schedule appointments, log services and product sales, and create invoices. 4. Run management reports such as billings by customer, employee and procedure. Most of the functionality is already built; we just need a better user-interface on top. A couple of thoughts (will look for more ideas from you): 1. Create a wizard-like interface for tasks/express configuration changes (for example, the client will usually have some simple tasks like add a new service, change a price, add an employee etc). Have a Task interface rather than the current interface (which is more like a “master file maintenance” interface). 2. Separate out different kinds of functionality: a. routine transactions (such as generate an invoice), b. configuration changes (such as add a new service), c. reporting, and d. running a campaign. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Some additional comments on what we are looking for: 1. Change the navigation/organization of the system functionality to be more driven by user tasks, actually guiding the user in performing the tasks they need to perform. Dumb down the interface. 2. Make the visual interface more appealing and welcoming/less daunting. No technical jargon (please feel free to change the language on screens). 3. Clean-up the data-entry and report pages, show minimal clutter and options. Simplify. The invoice can be mailed, printed or saved as a PDF. You can also have your customers pay online by activating the online payment gateway. Invoices can be created either by feeding in each field of the invoice or by using the quick invoicing mode. Reports You can generate weekly, monthly or yearly reports of invoices, services, customers and many more domains. Employee Performance You can see a report on the performance of an employee for any period of time. You can also evaluate an employee's performance with respect to a customer or a product. CRM You can send SMS (phone text message) and emails to selected customers about upcoming offers and discounts. You can filter your customers according to various parameters or send communications to your entire customer database at one go. Customers You can add new customers along with their contact details on the system. Simultaneously, a membership plan can also be ascribed to a customer. Bulk customer records can be uploaded from excel. You can view loyalty points for each customer and also edit/delete customers from the list. Stock Management You can upload current stock and additions to it along with its brand, volume, vendor contact, product category and other such details. Any consumption of a product is also recorded here. Hence, you can review your stock consumption and view stock reports on a regular basis. You can evaluate product wise as well as employee wise consumption of stock. Appointment Request You can directly feed in appointments that are made over the phone and block the calendar and employee for the booking. Further, appointments made from the salon website are also visible here. If the date and time requested is free on the bookings calendar you can block it for the respective customer. You can review appointments with a date filter. Services You can upload a new service with the cost, description and other such details for the same. Further, you can add an image corresponding to the service which will show on the salon website. You can also do a bulk upload of your existing services. Here you can browse through existing services and choose to edit or delete them. Deals You can upload new deals for customers. These will be visible on the salon website . You can browse through previous deals and choose to edit or delete them. Photo Gallery You can upload photos that you want to show your customers on your salon website. Membership You can add new membership plans for your customers. While viewing the list of all membership plans you can activate or deactivate any of them. You can also view a list of customers availing any particular membership plan and send a renewal SMS to those who’s plans have expired. Further, you can also do a bulk upload of your existing membership plans. Birthday and Anniversary When you log in to the system you land on the Dashboard which mentions the birthday and anniversary of your customers for that day. Dashboard Dashboard is the page you land on after logging into your system. It gives you instant access and overview of the key utilities on the system. It includes, • Add a new customer • Create an invoice • Appointment requests • Recent activities • Sales summary • Customer birthdays and anniversaries • Graphical representation of purchase, consumption and sales
