avleck got their new postcard, flyer or print by running a design contest:
Help improve Stanford Alumni Mentoring for Stanford University!

SAM fosters connections between students and alumni. https://stanford.campuskudos.com/ Students looking for advice from people who were once in their shoes. Alumni volunteers who want to provide advice and perspectives. Hundreds of industries, job functions, majors, and other connections to make. We try to get both alumni and students to register online for the SAM program so they can connect with each other. Our mission is to empower students to cultivate personalized networks that shape their professional journey, and this is one tool we use to do that. Our vision is for students to transform their education and ambitions into meaningful work over the course of their lifetime. ABOUT STANFORD ALUMNI MENTORING Since 2002, thousands of students have been connected to awesome alumni mentors through SAM. Whether you’re an alum looking to share your perspectives and advice with current students, or a student trying to figure out how to navigate life at Stanford and beyond, SAM is for you. As a student, you may want to connect only once with an alum over coffee or the phone, or you may want to establish a deeper, long-term mentoring connection. SAM allows you to do both! As an alum, you have the opportunity to answer questions posed to the entire alumni community by students, accept a mentee for long-term mentorship, or simply grab a one-time coffee or take a phone call with a student. The secret to a great mentor connection is to approach the relationship with an open mind, empathy, respect, a willingness to vulnerable and honest, and clear expectations for what you are hoping to get out of the mentoring connection - this goes for both students and alumni.
What's your vision?
I want a postcard that can be handed out or mailed advertising what Stanford Alumni Mentoring is, the opportunities it provides, and encouraging them to use it/register. Ideally this postcard could be used to recruit both students and alumni, but if that is asking too much then I'd like to see one targeted at alumni specifically. It should include the web address (currently https://stanford.campuskudos.com/ but will be changing to mentoring.stanford.edu eventually), look simple and inspiring, and give a little insight into what SAM provides. Cardinal red should be used (pantone 201C), and you can find the full stanford identity toolkit here: https://identity.stanford.edu/overview/color SAM is a program run by BEAM, Stanford Career Education. It would be great to have something on the card that also refers to that, like "SAM is a sponsored program of BEAM, Stanford Career Education."
Attached files include the latest logo along with examples of the previous postcard/handouts we used. I also attached the BEAM logo.
