Developmental Psychology Program at Temple University
I am a professor of psychology at Temple University in Philadelphia in the USA, where I direct the undergraduate and graduate (PhD) programs in Developmental Psychology. The program consists of a group of researchers, teachers, and students who study human development from infancy through adolescence. Together with my colleagues I am hosting a reception at the meeting (conference) of the Society for Research in Child Development in Montreal. This is a relatively large biennial conference where thousands of researchers, practitioners and students of child development will converge to present and discuss their work. The point of the reception is to provide a social setting for colleagues to reconnect and to maintain the visibility of our graduate and undergraduate programs in developmental psychology (the study of child development).
The target audience consists of colleagues and students who will attend the conference.
The flier/invitation would mainly be distributed over email so should be easily viewed on screen. We will also be printing some copies for mailing or handing out.
The flier should use language something like:
"The faculty and students of the Developmental Psychology Program at Temple University invite you to....A Reception....at the 2011 Biennial Meeting of the Society for Research in Child Development"
Most invites to these kinds of receptions are cooked up on PowerPoint by people like me who have no design skills. What I am looking for here is something that is more professional and if possible, incorporates the following themes in its background:
- Human growth and development. I mean this broadly envisaged as an abstract theme and not necessarily just pictures of cute babies or kids. I understand this may be vague, but I am sure that someone can think about this...
- The spirit of Montreal as a city
- The Temple University logo ( attached). Does not have to be large or dominating. The cherry color of the "T" should stay that way.
The details of the reception are as follows:
Date: Thursday, March 31
Location:
Salon 3
Le Centre Sheraton
Montreal (no need to give more details, since the conference attendees will know where the conference hotels are).
Time: 9 PM
Hot and cold hors d'oeuvres
Cash bar
I hope that this is enough to get people started. I look forward to seeing some submissions for this!
Thank you....
