What's your vision?
We need a brochure designed that we can take to sales meetings and leave with propsective clients. The brochure needs to look ,elegant, understated, classy without trying - it needs to give an impression of utmost quality since that is the image we wish to portray of our company. Most of our clients are small and medium sized - between 15 and 100 users - but we believe that if the brochure is high enough quality, it should appeal to both larger and smaller clients. So it needs to look right to larger companies, without putting off the smaller ones - but that probably means that we can't have anything too "quirky". We have a logo currently, but it's very limiting in terms of style and colour - and we don't want that to limit our options in terms of styles or colour in the brochure. If the logo needs to be changed slightly or completely in order to not restrict the brochure design, that's fine. In a perfect world we wouldnt change the logo - because if we do, we'll have to redo all of our stationery - but getting the brochure right is more important. We were thinking that - as well as the basic text - we could put testimonials and case studies at various points in the brochure. We don't just want some cheesy pictures of 1s and 0s or computer screens in the background - although we understand that some pictures will make the brochure less boring. We want the format to be an A4 (11.7in x 8.3in), saddle-stitched, with 8 sides (including front and back covers) so that the digital printing will be easy and cheap - but we like the look of landscape A4 (11.7in x 8.3in) brochures rather than portrait - we think they look more special. We feel that a brochure of this type - printed on stiff paper - will look classier than a fold-out type or a plain portrait format. Did I mention that the brochure has to shout quality?!! Attached is an example of the logos we would want in the appropriate section of the brochure, content, a template, and a screenshot of a design someone else did which I quite like. We really like the font, style, spacing etc of the lower-case letters across the "brochure_text.jpg" file, and the background colour is quite nice too. In any event, this is not a firm requirement - we're happy to look at anything.
We probably only need 8 sides - assuming all the text fits, which it probably will. We just had a thought about the logo - it may be possible to design the entire brochure without reference to the logo, and then perhaps just have the logo on the back cover alongn with our address. That way the logo won't restrict options for colour / style / font within the main brochure. Just a thought. Also - if the text is too long or too wordy, we might be able to trim it down a little in certain areas. *** I don't know who uploaded the brochure template jpeg - it wasn't me - but that's not how we want it. It should be landscape, but the saddle stitching is on the short side - so that when the brochure is open it will be twice the normal width of an A4 sheet. The template jpeg suggests that the brochure will open up with one page ABOVE the other - this is not correct. The pages wlil be next to eachother. ***
