We design networking test equipment for both the commercial and military market. Our products are sold only to corporations. The brand image we like to convey is reliability, uniqueness, engineering superiority, and also understanding of our customers' headaches.
The target audience is an engineer or engineering manager, frustrated that they can't get their design to work. They usually are at a critical time in their design cycle, ready to release their product, but can't because it doesn't work properly. (They often call their problem an "integration" problem.) We offer a solution to help them debug their design and find out exactly where the problem is, so they can fix it.
The engineer works on chips and boards, and uses cables to connect their design to other "boxes." The market is an existing market, and closely resembles the IT market.
The engineers are logical, geeky, analytical, probably male, probably socially inept.
The ad design specifications are:
Size: Width 3.5” x Height 4.75”
Content should have ¼” spacing from edge
The attached PPT file shows the copy. We want the order of the copy to flow as shown, and the sizing of the font should generally follow. But we are not married to much else, so please show your graphical talent!
The ad should interrupt the reader, especially the one who has this problem of integration. We want them to call us, which is the call-to-action on the attached PPT.
The first suggested image to ad is one of a frustrated businessman or IT dude. This image should be provided by the designer.
The second is an image of the product, attached. The 3rd image is an award recently received, also attached.
Finally, our corporate logo is attached, and should appear somewhere on the ad, but having it small is fine.
The ad will run in the COTS Journal, and you can see their latest magazine online at http://www.cotsjournalonline.com/digital.
You are free to design the fonts, font color, background, border, as well as choose the photos that seem appropriate for the first photo.
