This is a cover for a book that might one day become a business. As a pastor at Peninsula Bible Church (pbc.org) for over 15 years, Scott Grant has worked with young adults and has seen many of the congregation through trials and tribulations. This book, "Hooked in the Heart" is about how God has worked in Scott's life in unexpected ways and through his life experiences (e.g. dealing with being single, moving to a new town). God is hooking you in the heart. The goal is to share these stories in as many ways as possible and to reach as many people as possible - internet, mobile, print. Although the book has a fishing title "Hooked in the Heart", there are only a couple of stories about how fly fishing has led him to people and closer to God. Excerpt: God doesn’t beat us over the head. He intrigues us, surprises us, and finally captivates us. He reveals himself in ways that delight our hearts. God hooks us. He gets our attention and pulls us away from our concerns to show us his perspective and take our breath away. He hooks us with his artistry—hooks us right in the heart.
What's your vision?
Would like a stream image (no people) that would be reminiscent of a fly fishing location. Some words that would describe the scene Peaceful Reflective Quiet Solice Flowing Classy No Cheesy - like hooks in hearts Needs to have the Author and Title on the cover "Hooked in the Heart" by Scott Grant Also needs to have the subtitle on the cover "Appreciating the artistry of God in everyday life"
The files attached were rejected images from a friend who was helping us do some mocks. Comments about the images from the author 1. i'd rule this one out because he's a spin fisherman, not a fly fisherman. fly fishing, of course, is the superior sport :). 2. pretty good, but i'm not sure what that is sticking out of his leg. a net, i guess. a little distracting, and the lake (instead of stream) looks a little mossy and stagnant to me. 3. pretty good, but the guy with that kind of hat and that kind of position looks a little funny to me. 4. might be my favorite of the five. i like the stream. but i'm not sure the "hooked" metaphor works as well without an actual fisherman. then again, it might be hard to find the right kind of fisherman. wow, i'm pickier than i thought. 5. nice scene, but i'm not sure what that is at the top (a tree, a person), and i don't know what that streak is. nothing really nails it (not sure if that's possible) but 2 and 4 are probably workable. then again, if you want to keep trying, you might think: stream (not lake), especially a spring creek; a fly fisherman; a sunset; autumn. maybe a fisherman more in the distance, so you can't see his flaws? but, not all that is probably necessary. the right thing might come in some different sort of combination.
