Description of the product
We are opening a hand-made candle store. Our candles are made from all-natural soy & food-grade paraffin wax, blended by experts. Our catalog of luxurious scents includes Vanilla, Pumpkin, Chocolate Chip, Lavender, Fruit Punch, Fresh Brewed Coffee, Christmas, and many more.
Description of the product target audience
Adults (primarily women) who love decorating their homes with candles.
Our candles are typically poured into round glass containers with a circular lid. We are looking for a rectangular label that can be stuck onto the side of the jar. TEXT: The text should show the company name (Spirit Candle Co.) near the top, and have space near the middle section for the scent of the candle ("Fresh Roasted Coffee," "Pumpkin Spice," etc.). We will switch out this text depending on the scent. Near the bottom, the label should say "100% Handmade," "All Natural Made With The Finest Ingredients," and "www.spiritcandle.co". We do not have an official company logo yet, but our logo will be only text-based and say "Spirit Candle Co." in a normal, easy-to-read font. You can select any fonts that will fit your design of the label. We imagine the text to be surrounded by a border (see details below), either circling the text or along the top and bottom edges of the label. COLOR: We would like our label to be colorful, not just black and white. The colors should harmonize well together. We do not have a specific number of colors we need to see. However, we plan to use different color combinations to identify products. Example: The "Strawberry" scented candle may use a red & pink color scheme, while the "Lavender" scented candle may use a purple & lavender color scheme. SIZE: Generally these rectangular labels should fit on a glass bottle (like a mason jar or the size of a wine bottle), however it would be ideal if the label could also be cropped into a circle to go on the lid of a mason jar. CREATIVE VISION & FEEL: Our goal is to have the packaging reflect a feeling of simplicity, modernity, serenity, and luxury. A few elements that we like from other packaging are: 1) simple line-worked geometric designs, 2) eastern yoga-style mandalas and buddhist imagery, or 3) natural, garden-like & flowery. You do not need to incorporate all of these elements, but we think they could be strong themes to work with. We have included below pictures of packaging that we like. The "candleexample" files show examples of the candle containers as well as close competitors, and the "buddhist," "geometric," and "flowery" files show examples of packaging in each of the themes that we like. FILE DELIVERY: The final delivery should include author files (Photoshop or Illustrator preferred), delivered in such a way that we can continue to make labels for new products in this line as needed. It should be simple for another graphic designer to swap out the colors & change any of the text as needed.
