Alan92187 got their new signage by running a design contest:
Design compelling Vertical Banner for Wedding DJ
Check out Alan92187's Signage contest…
I am a Seattle-based mobile DJ and MC, specializing in weddings. I mostly work with women and men in their 20s and 30s. In general, they would have more education than average.
What's your vision?
I am looking for a design for a retractable vertical banner that I will use at booths in wedding shows and "open houses." In this environment, couples will walk through and see many different vendors (photographers, florists, caterers) that they could hire for their weddings. I want to have a banner that quickly conveys that I'm a DJ. That prominently shows my business name - Puget Sound DJ. And that conveys the fact that I will help make their wedding fun. So photos of happy couples, enjoying their wedding are important to me. I have one photo (Kayla and Chris) that I use on the front of my website (www.pugetsounddj.com) and have used on a business card, so it makes sense to have that be prominently displayed. It's a horizontal photo, so obviously, it wouldn't fill a vertical sign. (Also, please note the couple on the left that will need to be cropped out.) I am including a number of other photos too that you can deploy as you choose appropriate. My general feeling is that a few photos displayed large will have the best impact. I have included a lot, though, so you'll have choices. My logo uses purple #6e2180 and pink #bf017c, so incorporating those or any of their tints could be good. (I also have a gradient background that I think could look nice.) My main font is a Google font called Avenida. I would probably like to have one or two quotes in quote marks. (Maybe with five stars.) "The reception was EPIC. Literally. Such a fun time and I saw every single person on the dance floor." "He had every moment of the wedding planned out and I didn’t have to worry about a thing." "Alan was the main reason it went as smoothly as it did!!!" "He is the one vendor I have to thank for making it all happen!!” The dimensions of the sign should be 33 x 78, with a 1/8inch bleed. I would like it in .png or some other format that would allow me to make changes later on (for instance, updating a photo or quote or somethign like that.) Thanks very much for participating. I'm quite excited to see what you come up with. Alan
I will attempt to be interactive with feedback. So the earlier you can submit, the more likely you can take advantage of that.
