TTC is driven by the belief that the cell phone is becoming more and more affordable and accessible, also at the poorest level of the population and among the youth. Access to information in the developing world is a well-known challenge. Text to Change plays a vital role in improving lives - even in the most isolated areas - by connecting people via their mobile phones. Programma areas: TTC combines the explosive growth of mobile telephony with the need for better Healthcare, Education, Economic Development and Transparency. There are >5 billion mobile phone subscribers; >70% of them reside in low- and middle-income countries. TTC works in Africa & South America. Text to Change stands for: Simple in Concept & Powerful in Result, Measurable Results, Innovative, Demand Driven, Financially Efficient We set up interactive and incentive based SMS programs, targeting areas like HIV/AIDS, Malaria, Education and Price information for farmers. TTC focuses on SMS because of Cost-effectiveness, Scalability, Convenience, Broad reach and widespread popularity in the developing world!
What's your vision?
We would like an innovative & creative design that reflects our organisation and the nature of our work. It should somehow incorporate mobile phones/technology and aspects of our work (sending medicine reminders, mobile health, developing countries, etc). A specific reference to text messaging could also be an option off course. The design does not have to be very explicit in how it references mobiles or our work, just see where you want to take it, we are quite open to different approaches. We do a lot of projects in Africa. It would be nice to refer to this in the design as well.
