Appleby & Co., Inc.
Appleby & Co., Inc has been in business for over 50 years and has three departments all in the realm of Information Management. They are Records Reproduction, Investigations, and Document Management. Headquartered in Fresno, CA we are soon looking to go nationwide while still providing the great customer service we are known for that keeps our clientele coming back.
As our primary focus is on Business-to-Business sales, our target audience comes from various professional industries. Our goal is to have a site that is striking but also a clean design, professional looking but also not void of personality. The majority of our business comes from return customers, but we are always looking to expand awareness of our products to new companies and entirely new industries.
The industries we serve in our three areas of business overlap somewhat, but break down into the following:
Our records reproduction/legal services wing interacts with lawyers, paralegals, and representatives from medical offices (hospitals, clinics, etc).
Our document management wing currently caters to the government and educational organizations (such as school districts and colleges). We have also been attempting to drive business from the private sector for some time now, in a variety of industries.
Our investigations wing works primarily in worker’s compensation for businesses and insurance companies.
The representatives from all of these organizations need to be able to navigate through our site to find their needed information, or the link to their desired ordering form or web application we provide, while also getting an impression of our company’s brand and the other services we offer.
We just finalized our new logo through 99 designs. Now it's time to take the logo and fully revamp our company website.
Obviously the design will have to match our new logo. Initially, much of the content from our old site will be ported to the new, but we need a design that will be flexible enough to incorporate changes to our business and the content we provide.
We are considering maybe having a carousel rotating between our three departments on our front primary page.
Our page should consist of a main banner incorporating our logo and color choices. The main navigation should contain three subdivisions, funneling visitors between our three departments. The design should be something that can appeal to all of our industries and visitors equally, not directed at a single group or target audience.

The content on our primary page will be relatively sparse, with room for an overview of our organization, and some room to highlight new services we provide. The main navigation needs to be pronounced and eye catching.
Our 2nd level page needs to be generalizable, so we can use the same design for the each of our three departments. Each department will use the page to describe the services we offer in depth, spanning a variety of pages and functions. The theme provided needs to contain form elements, also.
We are open to a variety of layouts and themes. We prefer the design to be as simple and clean as possible. We are also open to using other accent colors.
