As stated in the summary, we need two pages.
Customer has a print brochure, and would like the intro page to be similar. This page would be displayed first when accessing their website. A copy of that, which also includes their logo can be downloaded from http://www.phillipsdata.us/cnc-cont…-print.png This brochure cover contains photographs. We will need to be able to swap these images out with new images easily, so it will be important that the photographs do not have styling or effects that can not be reproduced with xhtml/css. For example, borders would be ok because those can be done in css without modifying the actual photographs. The PNG image linked above is clearly for print media, so we are looking forward to what you can come up with from this for the web.
This is the page we will use to create all the other pages, so it must have a navigation. It's still undecided what all the navigation links will be so consider that the navigation will need to be expandable in your design. A top nav would probably be preferable, with some type of sub-nav, either directly below it, on a left column, or as a drop down from the top nav.
For content, please download http://www.phillipsdata.us/cnc-cont…c-info.doc. You can use this information within the main page as well as determining what to put in the navigation.
Page content should be on a white background. We like that clean, professional look so please keep that in mind. Also, for colors, use the color in their logo (the purple), but it may need to be used sparingly more as an accent color. Some black, shades of gray, white and another color? Do what you think looks best.
Use the logo in this image http://www.phillipsdata.us/cnc-cont…-print.png
We aren't putting too many restrictions on this design because honestly, if we knew exactly what the client wanted, we would probably design it ourselves. We will be submitting designs we like to our client who will review them. The design they like the best will win.
In the end we need a layered PSD from the winner of both the intro and main pages.
