Design a cool new food and recipe website!

Recipenuts

Recipenuts is a new recipe website dedicated to simplifying cooking, meal planning and nutrition. Although our slogan (still under review) “Food. Simplified”, has a serious connotation, RecipeNuts needs to be a site that’s fun and very simple to use.

You have a passion for food? Perfect! We’d like to see some of that passion in RecipeNuts!

We’ve built wireframes for virtually every page on the site, but apart from the logo, all items are their for illustration purposes. You have total freedom to play with them as you wish.

We favour simple and “airy” designs, rather than a crowded look. We have a playful logo that we like. You can try to stick to those colors (we like them), but if you have some alternative ideas, then by all means try them.

We haven't given much design guidelines, as we want to get in the way of your creativity, but WE WILL BE VERY PROACTIVE IN GIVING YOU QUICK FEEDBACK, so you can be sure you're on the right track!

The target audience is someone who typically visits recipe sites to find recipe ideas, or who actively participates in recipe sites by submitting recipes, blogging, etc.

This site will especially cater to those wanting a tool to actively manage their meals (ex: through a weekly menu) and their nutritional requirements.

We are looking for a web site design:

No flash
Lighter colours preferred. Take it easy on the heavy gradients, etc

We're not listing any sites that we like, we want to leave it up to your creativity to figure what works best!

We have wireframes for 5 pages which describe basic layout. We based the layout of the wireframes on functionality for the website, but if you have any suggestions we are open to hearing them.

We require designs for all 5 to receive award. Winner will be selected based on best design of the Home Page and Recipe View Page. Doing designs for the other 3 pages is not necessary, but will definitely help your odds :-)
