MoodBase - http:///moodbase.com
We are a new content aggregation site, where the concept is that we show content NOT by the topic of the content itself, but based on the REACTION people have to the content. We learn what people said in comments / tweets / reviews etc... and using our patent pending technology we understand what the moods (and emotions) are with regards to this content.
Please Have a look at our current TEST site http://moodbase.com to see the kind of aggregation we do, and the kind of information we have - do not be influenced from the layout and graphics tough- its just an engineer's design.
Young adults (18-35) , that are open minded, and connect with this new concept.
It is very important to keep our differentiation, and focus the site about the MOODS, and how it is decided based on what allot of PEOPLE said.
We look at many sources of information and use semantic algorithms to decide what to show, so we DON'T want to be perceived as just aggregating tweets like other aggregation sites.
---- update ----
We noticed that you guys use the icon as the big element at the left of a list item, this is not what we want, we find a WORD (usually adjective) that is the best representation of what people said about the content, the voting is on that word, and it should be clear and draw attention. sometimes the word would be the mood name, and sometimes not (there are mood icons in the item itself, think of them as in a restaurant review where each item indicates if there is parking/handicap access/vegeterian dish etc...)

-- update -- Have added an illustrator file for the icons http://moodbase.com/99d/icons.ai
WE WILL GIVE ALLOT OF FEEDBACK!!!
Basically we need 2 pages
1 - A list of content items (homepage with featured items/search results /channel with selected items)
2 - A detailed page for a specific item.
We like the design clean, so a light background please, possibly changing lightly in tone when in a relevant mood context - but light!
Like we mentioned, we are a new concept so we want the site to have a similar feel to that of the popular aggregation sites, (digg.com, stumbleuppon.com, tweetmeme.com etc...) but STILL KEEP the mood differentiator .
There is allot of information, so the design cannot overwhelm the information itself.
In each item we use mood icons to show what type of reactions people expressed in regards to the content.
The colors of the icons are not critical feel free to change them.
A VERY VERY IMPORTANT part of the design would be to draw attention to the mood of the item and reflect that many people said this.
Each item has a score which is calculated by us, and the user can vote if it is right or wrong, but it has to be clear that the scores are not the voting numbers themselves, but rather feedback on our conclusion.
We will require a .psd file for both pages.
We will have a logo competition at a later date.
Ee use c#/.net to run this - dont worry about ajax style interactivity, we can do that as well with that platform
