We are a small start-up that is looking to do big things, specifically with regards to people's relationships with each other. While others are interested in the data that makes up those relationships, we interested in the people. We believe that there is infinite value in closer relationships and our mission is to develop tools that improve peoples ability to make their relationships more meaningful, and effective, both personally and professionally.
We are targeting new customers (iPhone only at this time) as well as current customers looking for our additional service add-ons.
While the main intent of the site is to be informative, we will also have a shopping cart that allows the user to purchase add-on services for the product. We need to include (but not be limited to) information about the company and the people, the products, the buzz (specifically social media) surrounding our videos, articles, and book release, and a support section. Design should transmit a feeling of professional and reliable company while remaining clean but warm.
I have additional information that I will post as a comment for all that may help in getting the feel correct.
Submission should include home page, an interior content page (for text and media), a blog layout that is similar in feel but distinct to home page, and a shopping cart layout all in a layered PSD. We don't want to have to license any photos so please be cautious of copyrighting.
The home page should include the logo, navigation (as described previously), a feature section to showcase the application, callouts for testimonials, social media and the upcoming book (maybe some quotes or something). Also, there needs to be a few action items. Buying the application is primary but keeping informed of proceeding would be good as well.
Additional pages should maintain the navigation (no mystery meat navigation please) but could possibly change up for the blog piece so they feel similar but distinct.
http://viporbit.com is our current landing page - it's simple and only for collecting pre-release contact info. Obviously it's plain currently but that's sort of intentional. We would like the site to remain action oriented.
We are a big fan of http://tapbots.com/ and http://www.actionmethod.com/ websites. Not that we'd like to copy their style though. We really want the site to remain personal, especially since the basis of our product is relationships. Since there is a book coming out by our CEO at the same time, a callout for the book would be great as well as an action item to lead to the book site also. Ultimately, driving customers to buy our app and/or the book is a priority.
