The Cattle Pages website just got a new logo from a SitePoint contest and now needs a new website design! The site began in 1996 as one of the first websites with information for beef cattle ranchers. Our target audience consists of cattle ranchers, many of whom are between 40-60 years of age.
Our slogan is The Internet Guide to the Cattle Industry and consists of a directory of cattle ranchers and equipment companies, photo gallery, classified ads, discussion forums and information articles.
We recently held a SitePoint contest for our Logo and chose http://www.sitepoint.com/marketplac…ryid=15513.
We also held a contest for a masthead that will be used in some printed materials. You have the option to include it, but we are also interested in seeing other ideas.
The feel of the site should be high-end and rich, and represent the lifestyle of cattle ranching.
One of the key elements of our site is navigation. Your design must allow for an 800 pixels wide horizontal navigation dropdown menu. The areas of navigation are: Home, The Cattle Pages, Features, Community, Interactive, Directory, Products, Resources, Search.
Things we don't want: ropes, cow bells, black and white spotted cows, cows with long horns, and Wanted! poster or other old-west style fonts, barns, and farm houses.
We will guarantee a winner will be selected from the entries received. If there are several close entries, we may optionally add a second prize to encourage revisions.
I am online and will be checking in often, so feel free to ask any questions or request clarifications.
