Netrunner is a new operating system designed for netbook computers.
- Important aspects of the project are:
-> It's open source so we need to show a news section, our announcements, somewhere on the main page.
-> It's free of charge, so it's really important people understand what it is and that they can download it, that should be on the main page as well.
-> It's community driven, so that should be emphasized on the main page as well.
Netrunner is an operating system that can be downloaded for free, it's open source, and the target audience is everyone out there with a need for a modern operating system really.
- A simple navigation.
- A web 2 design.
- To win the contest (not necessarily at the early stages of the contest), two HTML pages, one with a cool layout for the front page and one with a more traditional layout used for all other pages.
For the download button/section, feel free to design 3d box shots or CD covers. This is not required but would be considered a plus.
As an example, http://www.ubuntu.com has a simple navigation and layout, check the Ubuntu link at the top, and how it shows a vertical navigation box for deeper links on the left of the other pages ("Education" for instance). What this example is missing though, is that it doesn't show announcements/news on the main page.
We'd like the layout to remain simple, but also to both introduce ourselves and let people know of the latest news on the main page.
For all artwork produced we require access to individual layers (or objects if it's vectorial) of the pictures. We also require that the work be original and created by the artist him(her)self.
